TAIPEI AIR STATION |
This beautiful photo, courtesy of Terry Sherwood, 327th AD Historian, was taken sometime in 1969, more than 40 years ago. Don’t forget - We are planning a Return to Taiwan trip in November 2011. You could walk these old grounds yourself... Would someone please attempt to overlay this photograph onto the current Google Earth rendering. It would be interesting to see how the two match up today. In my visits to the old Taipei Air Station and the surrounding areas during the past few months, I heard that Roosevelt Road and the traffic circle moved. We need to Identify each office and building you can remember. Offices changed through the years. Send me an e-mail, we can begin a list. |
Many thanks to Bruce Rayle for working his Photoshop skills to clean and restore this old photograph. This one is historic! Please visit the Rayle Family pages HERE.

This overlay on Google Earth, is courtesy of Mark Browning. Thank you Mark! Mark’s Dad was assigned to the OSI office at Taipei Air Station from 1962-64. Sometime later, Mark’s work had him back in Taipei for one year during 2000-2001. |
