More of the Christmas Party in 1958. The laughter continues. US Army Officer William Sands in his red dress, standing to the far left holding the opened black fan is his wife Betty. The lady in the light blue dress between Bill and Betty could not be identified. The woman standing on the far right in the dark blue dress is believed to be Alice Spangler. I am wondering what music the “ladies” sang to, or was it a fan dance for the audience? Hummm |

Our MC for the night, microphone in hand, is introducing the next act. Unfortunately, we don’t have any pictures from this point in the evening… It looks like Mrs. Palmer is reaching for a napkin from the bar, she played the concert harp and had one set-up in her living room at the house. Great party for a great group of MAAG Hsinchu folks. Merry Christmas 1958. As Dandy Don Meredith used to sing to Howard Cosell, the great Willie Nelson song, “Turn Out the Lights, the Party’s Over ” Good Night Hsinchu.
